Ford Auto Shows
Working with Imagination over the past year for Ford’s Auto Shows we have created many unique experiences for visitors. The shows take place around the globe and target visitors of different ages, locations and attitudes. The largest show had 715,000 visitors.
The shows used Haptic and Kinect technologies to explain Ford’s Quality story. We used iPads so visitors can see how Ford Sync was used. We also had massive augmented reality experiences. All of this was tied together with RFID cards so visitors could take their experience home with them.
UEFA
Working with Imagination and Timeslice we created unique experience for fans at the UEFA Festival 2011 to capture and share with their friends. 40 synchronised cameras, arced around a stage captured the visitors bullet time moment. We then created and upload the videos so the visitor could share their Focus Cam shot at the festival or at home.
The videos generated over 75,000 views in just 5 days. The channel became one of YouTubes most viewed in the UK during the event. There was also huge amplification of Ford innovation and technology stories with inclusion on many blogging sites including BBC Online.

I was asked to be lead developer on Imagination’s interactives for the Ford Auto Shows. It was a large udertaking and we put together a team of 7 developers to work on 9 interactives over 3 months. The work was fairly intense with the ideas behind most of the interactives constantly changing. However the team was really good and after some long hours we managed to pull it off.
Lots of interactives, not much time…jobs a good’un.

Imagination
Working closely with Imagination I lead development of the homepage for the multinational company
Sony
Sony wanted an installation that showed off all aspects of the corporation. Using Gesturetek technology we created a version of the Sony Xross Media Player in Flash. It is great fun to use and is now in Sony HQ reception so visitors can see everything Sony has to offer.
I have put a part of the installation up here but it was far to big to put up the videos too, i only the MGMT one is up there. It’ll give you can idea of how the Gesturetek (no mouse clicks here) and the Xcross Media Bar work together. Give it some time to load as it’s not made for the web.
Xcross Media Bar
Due to requests i’ve put up a version of the Xcross Media Bar with the source code for those who want to use it. I’ve simplified it as much as I can, without rewriting what i’ve done before. However it’s still a little messy so you’ll have to explore it a little to understand whats going on.
Ford Mustang
The exhibition for Ford Mustang toured the motor shows around the US. It was a great collection of interactives which homages this classic car. I worked on overseeing all of the interactives for it, The Growl was my favourite. It is a sound visualization of the Mustang engine! At the exhibition it looked great with exhaust pipes for speakers! The real challenge with it was creating a visualization had Mustang images but didn’t warp them in any way. I’ve attached an example of it. The interaction is fairly simple at the exhibition it used a touch screen. It’s not created for the web so give it some time to load!
